The Atlas of Jewish Food explores influential Jewish chefs, authors, and cookbooks around the world. Our successful launch event featured Claudia Roden in an intimate conversation that explored her life and her eminent cookbook The Book of Jewish Food.

This month we are thrilled to invite you to experience a bright new star in the food world Jake Cohen, author of Jew-ish and I could Nosh. Jake will be in conversation with Australian food writer and broadcaster Alice Zaslavsky.

The event will be hosted in two locations, in Bondi Junction, Eastern suburbs and in St. Ives, Upper North Shore.

The evening will begin with a hands-on challah braiding demonstration followed by Jake in conversation with and Alice live via zoom. Nibbles will be provided.

Out-of-towners can log into the in conversation via zoom.

Jake Cohen is the New York Times bestselling author of Jew-ish, rising star in the food world, and, most importantly nice Jewish boy from New York. Jake and his recipes have been featured on Rachael Ray, The Drew Barrymore Show, Live with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America, and the Food Network and in the New York Times, Food & Wine, The Wall Street Journal, Bon Appetit, and Forbes, among others. When he’s not posting challah-braiding videos and recipes on his Instagram and TikTok (@jakecohen), he’s eating around New York City with his husband Alex.

His newest book, I COULD NOSH, comes out early 2024 in Australia.

Alice Zaslavsky is an award-winning author and one of Australia’s favourite broadcasters. She is the host of Saturday Breakfast on ABC Radio Melbourne, culinary correspondent for ABC News Breakfast, as well as creator of digital food education program Phenomenom. Her vegetable bible In Praise of Veg won the 2021 ABIA for best illustrated book and went on to win accolades around the globe, being published in eight countries. When Alice is not on stage hosting international culinary talent, or on screen showing people how to find every shortcut to delicious food, she’s at home testing recipes and sharing insights online as @aliceinframes.
