UNORTHODOX

“The world has improved mostly because unorthodox people did unorthodox things. Not surprisingly, they had courage and daring to think they could make a difference”.

– Ruby Dee

In the broadest sense of the word, Jews throughout history have often grappled with thoughts, ideas and actions that are contrary to what is usual, traditional, or accepted.

Our incredible line-up includes more variety of stories and storytellers than ever before, including the fabulous Abby Stein (Educator and Trans Activist from New York); Joanna Weinberg (Cabaret Artist & Songwriter); David Leser (Author & Journalist); Michael Stone (CEO Holistic Services Group); Maryam Popal Zahid (Founder Afghan Women on the Move); and Yoram Symons (slam poet from Melbourne); Natan Alexander (Orthodox Rabbi, direct from Israel); as well as MC Jackie Loeb – comedian and self-confessed ‘Queen of Unorthodox’!

The event will feature a ‘Wild Card’ performer, so if you have a story to share that fits our UNORTHODOX theme, make sure you come prepared as your name could be pulled out of a hat.
