Shalom is excited to launch ‘The Platform’ – a place to develop, ideate and activate ideas that can enhance the Sydney Jewish Community landscape.

What?
A way to gain access between $500 and $2,000 of funding (depending on numbers), to be used for an event or program (or three).
Events should be aimed at Jews in their 20s and 30s, should have at least 50 people, and should fit into one of four categories;

  • Social
  • Experiences
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Professional upskilling

Who?
Anyone who wants to create an event and build community. Own a yoga company? Create a mass early morning yoga session! Own an ice cream store? Have an ice cream party! Want to have a 200 person Shabbat dinner? Go ahead, we will help out!
It doesn’t matter whether you are for profit, not for profit, or just a (wo)man with a plan.

Why?
Many of us have good ideas, but we don’t always have the funding, or assistance to get them off the ground. Here, The Platform, will assist you by granting you up to $2,000, and will help you with the nitty gritty details (like booking forms, and payment collection etc) that may otherwise bog you down.
Also by being part of The Platform, you join a network of activators, people who are enhancing the Jewish communal space, including 10 team members at Shalom, and 10 other activators per year.
You will gain access to professional development, wider social network, and to become part of our key ideating team, helping direct Shalom in its mission to increase vibrancy on Sydney’s Jewish Community.

How?
Apply by heading here. Only 10 will be chosen.

When?
Apply by April 29th.
If accepted you will be asked to join fellow activators for dinner on Tuesday 9 May to network, further brainstorm your ideas, engage in the development of your program or event.

Where?
Sydney, ACT, and Regional NSW
