On Monday April 13 2020, Diane Armstrong, a 2019 guest to the Shalom Sydney Jewish Writers Festival, joined Michaela Kalowski for a conversation over Zoom. Diane discussed her writing process, research for her upcoming book, the appeal and relevance of historical events, and reveleaded details about how she structures her days as a writer working from home. She also provided us with her current reading list and some wonderful book recommendations:
- Inheritance: A Memoir of Genealogy, paternity, and Love (2020) by Dani Shapiro
- American Dirt (2020) by Jeanine Cummins
- The Sealwoman’s Gift (2018) by Sally Magnusson
You can also view the Natan Sharansky video Tips for Quarantine that Diane and Michaela discussed here.
Diane’s books (and the recommended titles above) can be bought from the offical SJWF bookseller, Gertrude & Alice. Call 9130 5155 or email info@gertrudeandalice.com.au to place your order.
